Please check the schedule below: Saturday July 14, 7 - 8:30 pm: Seed Saving: Super Easy Plants Sunday August 14th, 10 - 11:30am: Seed Saving: Super Easy Plants The Ecology Center in Berekely is hosting two Seed Saving Classes: Super Easy Plants on: Thursday, July 14th from 7-8:30 pm at the Ecology Center Sunday, August 14th from 10-11:30 am at the EcoHouse Join Rebecca Newburn of Richmond Grows Seed Lending Library for a class on seed saving basics, including some hands-on practice. No previous seed saving experience needed. Learn the basic vocabulary of seed saving and how to save seeds from the sunflower, pea, and nightshade families. You'll also learn how to return seeds "borrowed" from local seed lending libraries to help create a sustainable community and seed library. Cost $5-15 sliding scale. To register email: register@ecologycenter.org. Wheel chair accessible. The Ecology Center is also offering a hands-on fruit tree grafting workshop on Sunday, June 26th from 10am-1pm at the EcoHouse. Learn to do your own fruit tree grafting in this workshop with expert California Rare Fruit Grower John Valenzuela. We'll graft a new variety onto the EcoHouse's plum tree which was damaged by last winter's storms.
